Elisa invited me to create a custom design for the entrance to her home. Being a Brazilian living in the USA, she asked for something that reminded her of our culture and that would offer a highlight for the bananas painting on top of the stairs.
We talked about some possibilities and decided to work on the steps. The original idea was to apply chita fabric, which had been used in the decoration of her wedding party, but she had only one model and it was a little too intense. I suggested to work on each step with designs inspired by the chita fabric style but with a more sober palette.
Technique: acrylic on wood
